CGB-GF. William Molby, b. July 4, 1800 (Jonathan 4, Sam.3, Sam.2, Wm.1). He married in 1823, Losina Clark (b. 1803) at Baldwinsville, N.Y. There is a Van Buren Township, Onondago Co., N.Y. deed:
"Lot 12.
March 8, 1825
William Molby and wife Luoisa) of Camillus Town to Isaac
Jacob Molby and wife Saery ) Wilson of Camillus Town
Chester Molby and wife Sally ) for $325.
Isaac Molby )
It is not evident to me why William, who was younger brother of Jacob and Chester, should head this list. Is it possible their father, Jonathan, left a larger share of this lot to William? Certainly it seems unusual. (Hist. of Van Buren) "William Malby a tax payer in 1825."

As nearly as can be ascertained, William Maltby or Molby, with his brother Isaac, moved to Michigan in 1836. The family of William were mostly of Oakland County.

The Hist. of Oakland Co. 1817-1877, compiled by Thaddeus D. Seeley, The Lewis Pub. Co., Chicago and New York, 1912, contains the statement: "In 1836, there was a small class in the vicinity of Clarkston comprised of Azra Crosby and wife, John Merrill and wife and William Malby and wife."
(F.A.M. I believe this was a class called "Sashabaw Class," name for an Indian chief.)
